GIVE YOUR SKIN THE LOVE IT DESERVES

Neuromodulators “Tox”

Neuromodulators are wrinkle-relaxing injections of botulinum toxin – commercially brands include Botox, Dysport, or Jeuveau. These injectables are used to treat crow’s feet, frown lines, wrinkles, and unwanted lines on the neck or face. During treatment, a very small amount of the neuromodulator is injected directly into the underlying muscle, This causes the skin to relax, leading to a gradual smoothing out of the overlaying skin’s appearance. Typically, the effects last for three months, though every body absorbs it at a different rate.

Botox Treatments

Some discomfort with aging can be traced to the skin losing elasticity and volume. Wrinkles and frown lines between brows are signs time has left on the skin, which can make some people feel uncomfortable with their appearance. Wrinkles and frown lines don’t have to be a part of your facial profile. BOTOX® is the leading injectable of its kind to treat any lines left from aging and help you feel comfortable with your appearance.

What Is BOTOX®?

BOTOX® is a neuromodulator approved by the Food and Drug Administration to treat frown lines. It is a non-surgical, safe and effective treatment that can smooth any moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet or forehead lines, refreshing your profile for a youthful look.

The formula is mainly comprised of small amounts of purified botulinum toxin protein, Botulinum toxin (Type A), which blocks the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. This effect relaxes and smooths the look of lines and wrinkles caused by repetitive movements on the face—most commonly, between the brows, crows-feet around the eyes, and horizontal forehead creases. Botulinum toxin is also used cosmetically to balance facial asymmetry and relax tight neck bands.

You may consider botulinum toxin injections for cosmetic reasons if you are developing lines and wrinkles on your face due to common facial movements. Contact us today to schedule a consultation appointment and see if BOTOX® is the right neuromodulator for you.

How Does BOTOX® Work?

BOTOX® Cosmetic is approved treatment to temporarily improve the appearance of both moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow’s feet lines in adults.

BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning, moving the forehead muscles and squinting over the years. Your specialist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.

When you choose Botox at joules medspa, we will determine your problem areas, and where the injections should be placed for the effect you are looking for. Once the locations are set, we will inject the Botox solution. This solution prevents the muscles from contracting, which eliminates the look of wrinkles and other signs of aging.

One of the side effects you may experience is numbness and loss of muscle function, but these effects are temporary. Unfortunately, Botox treatment is also temporary, which means you will have to obtain new injections every few months. However, if you are happy with the results, getting new injections is harmless and the ideal option to keep your face looking younger. We will discuss this procedure with you before we start and help you determine if it is the right solution for your needs.

Who Can Benefit from BOTOX®?

This procedure is designed to reverse the effects of aging on your skin, there is no set age at which wrinkles and other signs of aging may appear. This means we treat some patients in their early 20s, just like we can treat patients in their 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond. Botox can help eliminate the signs of aging and help patients of all ages look and feel their best.
