GIVE YOUR SKIN THE LOVE IT DESERVES

Kybella Injections

Kybella is a nonsurgical injectable treatment specifically designed to reduce submental fat, (double chin). It is the sole injectable medication approved by the FDA for this purpose. Kybella, also known as synthetic deoxycholic acid, is a natural substance produced in your digestive system to aid in fat breakdown. By targeting the fat beneath the skin, Kybella disintegrates fat cells in that region. Following the destruction of fat cells, immune cells, step in to eliminate the remnants and stimulate collagen production. Fat storage under the chin diminishes, resulting in a reduction of the double chin appearance. Many opt for Kybella due to its shorter recovery period compared to surgery, leading to fewer risks. Kybella injections serve as an alternative for individuals who dislike the cost and risk of plastic surgery

What is Kybella?

If you have a double chin, Joules Medspa is one of the top rated medical spas that offer a non-invasive solution to destroy fat under the chin by offering Kybella, an injectable solution to dissolve fat in a “double chin” . To know more about Kybella Injections Cost, please continue reading below.

How Does Kybella Work?

Our medical provider will inject (up to 50 injections) Kybella into the fat directly under your chin. Most patients will require 2-4 sessions, depending on the size of the area and amount of fat. The treatment will be repeated every 4-8 weeks until desired results are achieved.

Kybella, approved by the FDA, is injected directly into the chin to destroy fat cells. Kybella will contour the shape of your lower face by eliminating fat and resulting in a more defined chin and jawline. The severity of submental fullness varies from absent to extreme in both men and women. Depending on the severity, the right candidate may need 2 to 6 treatments. Kybella’s main active ingredient, deoxycholic acid, destroys fat.

Deoxycholic acid is a similar synthetic version of a molecule that your body produces naturally to break down fat. When injected, fat membranes are destroyed and the remaining is absorbed back into the body. Patients with apparent platysmal bands may not receive optimal results and post-treatment may need BOTOX® Cosmetic to treat skin laxity in the neck.

What are the Risks and Side Effects?

Side effects include bruising, induration, redness, and numbness that can last for up to 4 weeks. Minimal bruising is also possible after treatment. While the bruising may not always be visible, it may be tender to the touch. Temporary numbness and tingling can also occur.

An uncommon side effect is trouble swallowing and temporary damage to the marginal mandibular nerve, causing an asymmetric smile that will resolve in days or weeks. It is also possible to experience nerve injury on the site of injection. If this is felt, please contact us right away.
